10.4 Review: what makes a word definite
Construct chains have strict rules regarding definitess - nouns in construct state NEVER take the article.
If the ABSOLUTE Noun is definite, all words in the chain are definite.
A word is definite if it:
- Has the article - הַמֶּלֶךְ (Lesson 5)
- Has a pronominal suffix - מַלְכִּי (Lesson 9)
- Is a proper noun - דָּוִיד (Lesson 4)
- Is in a construct chain where the last, absolute, word is definite - בֶּן הַמֶּלֶךְ = THE son of the king
