12.7 Lexical Form for Verbs
The lexical form is how you would locate the word in a dictionary
- As Izzy discussed in the introductory video, the lexical/dictionary form for verbs is almost always the Qal Perfect 3rd Person Masculine Singular96
- For the verb מָלַכְתִּי (I was king):
- The root is מלך (no vowels)
- The lexical form is מָלַךְ (take the root and inflect it as QP3ms form)
