8.6 Interrogative Pronouns

• מִי = who
• מָה = what
  • Can also be written as Maqqef - note the vowel shortens מַה־
• לָמָה = why
  • אֵלִ֣י אֵ֖לִי לָמָ֣ה עֲזַבְתָּ֑נִי
  • My God, my God, WHY have you forsaken me? (Psalms 22:1)

Usually, interrogative pronouns will appear at the beginning of a clause
