Hebrew Quest Study Passage: Genesis 1:1-5

With this lesson, we move away from the selected verses in Proverbs to lengthier study passages.

Record	Parse as many verbs as you can and translate each word - see parsing/translation examples from Dr. Beckman on Ruth 1:3: by hand and using a word processor (images open in a new tab)
Review	Watch Izzy’s Hebrew Quest video (video opens in a new tab). Though we would encourage viewing the entire segment, since you already reviewed Genesis 1:1 back in Lesson 6, you can start with Genesis 1:2 at the 46:50 mark

‫ 2 וְהָאָ֗רֶץ הָיְתָ֥ה תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ וְחֹ֖שֶׁךְ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י תְה֑וֹם וְר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים מְרַחֶ֖פֶת עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַמָּֽיִם׃ ‬

‫ 3 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים יְהִ֣י א֑וֹר וַֽיְהִי־אֽוֹר׃ ‬
